Q: What is it?

Illusions is a strand-by-strand process in which strands of extension hair is added to strands of your hair to create an invisible look. The extensions do not use glue, thread or any type of adhesive. Our Hair Extension Studio is the only company that offers a clear coating over each strand to protect the extensions, which allows you to use remy hair.

Q: How is it applied?

It is applied using dental floss to secure the hair; the floss is then removed leaving a strand as if it is growing from your scalp. Protective Sealant is applied to each extension to ensure that each extension applied lasts the duration of the process, while adding nutrients to the hair. You can only get this applied from aor Hair Weaving Specialist.

Q: How long does it last?

This technique last anywhere from 8 months to a year with no maintenance.

Q: How is it removed?

It is removed by snipping the small strip of the extension hair that’s wrapped. This is not easy to explain without seeing it done. It is a very easy process to remove.

Q: How long does it take?

It could take from 2-3 days for basic illusions, it takes up to 4-7 days for the mini illusions. This is with 2 Weaving Specialists working on you.

Q: I understand that the same amount of hair is added to mine, but are you sure there's no tension or damage on my hair and it's not damaging to the ends?

The extension hair is wrapped around using the dental floss, and then removed, leaving an invisible strand. The dental floss is removed in the process, so it is not left in your hair. Agape Sealant is then placed over the attached strands at the root to give the illusion that it's one strand of hair right from the scalp. This clear coat also protects the extensions from coming out. The process does not cause damage to your hair. You care for your hair like normal. The extensions are not big enough to cause damage. Not enough hair is added per strand to cause breakage. Your ends are left open for you to care for. The hair is attached at the root, not the end.

Q: I read that there's some type of dental floss added to help attach the hair. Wouldn't this cause breakage of some sort?

The dental floss is just to help apply the extension. It does not remain in the hair.

Q: How do you avoid damaging the hair when taking these out? I'm very scared that I'll lose half of my hair when the time comes to have these removed.

Because of the way the hair is applied, the small piece of extension hair that’s wrapped (from extension hair, not yours) is clipped, leaving your own hair free, without damage.

Q: My hairline is thin; however, the rest of my hair is healthy, medium-thick. I don't want it to be too big w/a whole lot of extra fullness (especially b/c it's not completely relaxed and it curls/kinks/spirals). Is it possible to avoid an overly full look?

During the consultation, we determine the look and fullness that you want to achieve before starting the procedure. There are other options that can be used to achieve any look you are trying to get, even if your hair is extremely thin, or you have aerial baldness.

Q: Is there a special way for caring for the invisible srands, and a special way to comb or brush?

Print out the maintenance page for instructions. For the most part, you would care for your hair as normal.

Q: Can I go swimming, and do other activities.

Absolutely, you won’t even know they’re there and the best part is, no one else will know either! Our hair is 100% single drawn Remy hair. No chemicals, no processing, etc.

Q: What about the hairline?

Agape Collection now has a new technique called Agape Invisible Crown Finish. This is an optional technique that allows your hair to look as if it is growing directly from your scalp around the hairline. Look at the following pictures of Mary J. Blige and Beyonce, for example. They are wearing wigs, but Agape’s Invisible Crown Finish does not require you to wear a wig to get this look. It can also be used by people who have thinning hair lines or aerial balding.
